In his State of the Union Speech, Barack Obama said:

We measure progress by the success of our people. By the jobs they can find and the quality of life those jobs offer. By the prospects of a small business owner who dreams of turning a good idea into a thriving enterprise. By the opportunities for a better life that we pass on to our children. That's the project the American people want us to work on. Together.

We did that in December. Thanks to the tax cuts we passed, Americans' paychecks are a little bigger today. Every business can write off the full cost of new investments that they make this year. And these steps, taken by Democrats and Republicans, will grow the economy and add to the more than one million private sector jobs created last year.

But we have to do more. These steps we've taken over the last two years may have broken the back of this recession, but to win the future, we'll need to take on challenges that have been decades in the making.

My fellow Americans,

By these standards set forth by our President, American progress would take a giant leap on day one of the implementation of The FairTax.

The number of jobs available to Americans will go up day one under The FairTax and accordingly our quality of life.

The FairTax plan will give small business owners the freedom to throw away then useless receipts instead of hording them in a shoebox in hopes of some tax write-off, never again file income tax, payroll tax, unemployment tax, social security tax, and never again have to pay any embedded taxes on goods that they purchase for use in production or resale.

The largest opportunity that The FairTax enactment will pass on to our children far outweighs any monetary or business benefit. It is one of Liberty and freedom from the oppression of the juggernaut that we have created and it's name is the Internal Revenue Service.

President Obama assures us that these are the projects that the American people want their government to work on and I concur!

American's paychecks got bigger in December. These so-garnished wages can continue to get bigger and bigger until they are able to take home 100% of their paychecks. Had The FairTax been passed in December this would have been accomplished on January 1 of this year.

From that point forward, American businesses would not have spent one more minute worrying about whether or not they needed a tax shelter for any new investments that they make this year or next in perpetuity.

One million private sector jobs created, and how many lost? The FairTax plan creates millions of jobs year one and brings back millions of jobs from overseas year after year all by itself. The only jobs that will be lost with the implementation of The FairTax are 90% of those currently held by CPA's that find themselves doing nothing but tax returns and audit defense when their time and energy could be better used and afforded by small and large businesses alike for the growth of our economy and the strengthening of our nation through the increase of our tax base. Oh, and lest we forget, 100% job loss for the IRS :smileyhappy:

President Obama points out that these steps have been taken in a bi-partisan campaign which has broken the back of the recession. But we need to do more. The FairTax is a bipartisan bill that both Republicans and Democrats alike can get behind. Our President is asking us to win the future by taking on challenges that have been decades in the making. The solution has been decades in the making as well, it's name is The FairTax.
